A state festival timed to the bloom of a flower that grows on one ridge on earth and nowhere else.
Usually held in May, aligned to the bloom; dates announced by the state each year.
Exact dates for the coming year haven't been announced or verified yet — this page will be updated when they are.
Ukhrul town and Shirui village
The Shirui lily (Lilium mackliniae) blooms on the upper slopes of Shirui Kashong for a few weeks at the turn of May into June, and Ukhrul celebrates it with a festival of music (including a serious rock competition), Tangkhul food, treks up the ridge and cultural showcases. The bloom is the point: time the trek right and the hillside is pink.
Guided treks to the lily slopes, live music, Tangkhul cultural events, local food stalls in Ukhrul town.
