The seed-sowing festival that unites Manipur's Naga communities at the start of the farming year.
Held around 14-15 February each year; 15 February is the state holiday.
Rotating venue - Ukhrul, Senapati or another hill headquarters
Lui-Ngai-Ni gathers the Naga tribes of Manipur - Tangkhul, Mao, Poumai, Maram, Rongmei and others - for a shared seed-sowing festival marking the start of the agricultural cycle. Celebrated around mid-February (15 February is a state holiday), it rotates its main venue among the hill district headquarters, with each tribe presenting its dances and attire on one stage.
Cultural showcases from many Naga tribes in one place - one of the best single days to see the sheer diversity of the hills.
