A December cultural and nature festival honouring the Barak River and the communities connected to it.
Usually held over several days in December; dates and venue are announced each year.
Exact dates for the coming year haven't been announced or verified yet — this page will be updated when they are.
Rotating venues in Senapati district; the organising committee announces each edition's site.
The Barak Festival uses the river as a meeting point for the cultures and landscapes of Senapati district. Editions bring together traditional hospitality, local cuisine, folk stories, music, indigenous games and outdoor activities while foregrounding care for the river. Venues can change: recent editions have used hill villages as well as district-level grounds, so the current notice matters more than an old map pin.
Cultural performances, morung displays, local food, indigenous games, music and nature-focused activities. Confirm transport and accommodation before leaving Imphal.
